The Reverse features Emanuel Hahn's Caribou design, "Canada", "25 Cents", and the year the coin was minted. The Caribou design was adopted in 1937 in an effort to modernize Canada's circulated coins. The Obverse features a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II , along with "D.G Regina." The 25 cent piece has been in circulation since 1870.
