About the Artist: John Hubbard Rich was born in Boston, Massachusetts in 1876. He studied at the Art Students League in New York as well as in Boston and Europe. Upon his return from Europe he taught at the Groton School In Massachusetts. In 1914, he moved to Los Angeles with artist William Cahill and established and taught at the School for Illustrating and Painting. Rich also taught at the University of Southern California and Otis Institute. John Hubbard Rich passed away in Los Angeles in March 1954.
