The Obverse features a portrait of Pericles (c. 495 bce – 429 bc), a prominent Athenian Statesman and General. The portrait is surrounded by his name in Greek (ΠΕΡΙΚΛΗΣ). The Reverse features the Parthenon surrounded with the coin’s denomination (“20” drachmai ), the name of the country, and the year the coin was minted (“1976”). The coin’s edge has an inscription in Greek text that translates to “Greek Republic.” The coin's composition is Copper Plated Nickel. Packed in a clear coin flip for protection.
