The Obverse features an uncrowned portrait of King George VI, along with the words "GEORGIVS VI D:G:BR:OMN:REX", "HP" (for Thomas Humphrey Paget). The Reverse features a crowned lion above a crown dividing the date (year of mintage), "one shilling" (the denomination), the words "·FID·DEF IND·IMP·" and KG ( for George Kruger Gray). The coin's composition is Cupronickel.
